Pool 8 Transect Data - Sampling Sites

• Blue Lake - an isolated backwater near La Crescent, Minnesota
  
  
• Target Lake - a contiguous backwater just south of Blue lake
  
  
• Goose Island - a contiguous backwater north of Goose Island County Park, Wisconsin
  
  
• Lawrence Lake - a contiguous backwater near Brownsville, Minnesota
  
  
• Shady Maple - a contiguous backwater south of Goose Island County Park, Wisconsin
  
  
• Horseshoe Island - a contiguous backwater located in the impounded area of Pool 8. An opening in the top of Horseshoe Island was closed in 1989 as part of the Pool 8 Islands Habitat Rehabiliation and Enhancement Project (HREP)
  
  
• Boomerang Island - a contiguous backwater located in the impounded area of Pool 8. Boomerang Island was built in 1992 as part of the Pool 8 Islands HREP
