A fishway to accommodate the American eel Anguilla rostrata has been constructed at the Moses-Saunders Hydro-Electric Power Dam in the St. Lawrence River at Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. The fishway is 29.3 m high and 156.4 m long, rising at a 12 slope from tailwater level below the dam to headwater level. More than 3 million eels have been passed over the dam during 4 years of operation.
