Study site locations: Iowa - Contaminant exposure of tree swallows in the Quad Cities area (Pool 15 of the Mississippi River)

Concentrations of PCBs were similar and at background concentrations in tree swallow eggs from three sites in Pool 15. Concentrations of both tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin and tetrachlorodibenzofuran were elevated above background concentrations in pooled egg samples.
