Study site locations: Illinois - Contaminant exposure of great blue herons on Upper Mississippi River

Concentrations of mercury and other contaminants in great blue heron eggs from 10 colonies along the upper Mississippi River were generally at background concentrations.  Geometric mean PCB concentrations were  3.04 ug/g wet wt. and mercury averaged 0.82 ug/g dry wt.
